Labasa police are still going through the statements of businessman Charan Jeet Singh who was arrested and questioned at the CID headquarters a few weeks ago.

Divisional Crime Officer Northern ASP Luke Rawalai said they are analyzing the file to determine the alleged seditious comments he made.

According to ASP Rawalai, the file was also sent to the CID headquarters for some verification and further steps to be taken.

Singh and Fiji Times reporter Serafina Silaitoga were investigated by Labasa police in relation to an article that was published by the newspaper.

In the article, Singh claimed that he had been informed that former Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry was asked to step down.
