Police are working closely with the DPP's Office in relation to investigations into the death of Josefa Baleiloa, who died in hospital after being allegedly assaulted during his re-capture in Cunningham in August.
Police Commissioner Commodore Esala Teleni told Fijivillage news that he would like to reassure Baleiloa's family that investigations are still underway and those responsible will be brought to justice.
He could not confirm whether any charges are being contemplated at this stage against the Police Officers and Prison Officers who were involved in Baleiloa's arrest.
