The Commerce Commission has started investigations to determine anti-competitive behaviour by hardware operators.

This is after Industry and Trade Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum formally wrote a letter to the Commission to investigate practices relating to pricing in the hardware supplies market.

The investigation includes the imports of goods into Fiji, goods manufactured in Fiji and the wholesale and retail sector for hardware suppliers.

The Commission said in order to complete the study in the hardware suppliers market, the Commission is inviting stakeholders and consumers to submit issues and complaints in regards to the hardware market.

The Commission also requests for past 6 month invoices and quotations from various stakeholders and consumers who have purchased hardware products.

Submissions close on the 7th of June.
