The Fiji Independent Commission against corruption is expected to start their investigations leveled against the former board members and senior managers of Post Fiji Limited from early next week.

FICAC Chief Investigator, ASP Marika Taufa told Village News this afternoon that they have been informed that they have to investigate these allegations, however they currently do not have any man power to start this investigation.

He said many of their investigators are in the North raiding and investigating certain government departments. These investigators are expected to return to Suva by Wednesday next week. He added a team will then be formed to carry out the investigations.

The Permanent Secretary for Public Enterprise, Taina Tagicakibau confirmed yesterday that this matter has been referred to FICAC for investigations.

Recommendations have been made to investigate many tenders issued by Post Fiji Limited in 2005 and 2006 by former senior managers without following proper procedures.

The Finance Ministry Internal audit report states that millions of tax dollars were allegedly misused as highlighted by Village News earlier in the week.
