Many investigation files in relation to the 2000 coup are still open.
Police Commissioner, Commodore Esala Teleni has dismissed earlier statements that all the files in relation to the George Speight led coup are closed.
When questioned on whether police are still investigating the financiers of the 2000 coup, he said these investigations are ongoing and further comments will be made when the police force makes a breakthrough.
Crime Unit manager, Luke Navela had earlier said that all 2000 coup investigation files are now closed.
Fiji Labour Party President, Jokapeci Koroi and Fiji Retailers Association President, Himmat Lodhia then raised concern as to why the files have been closed when certain people who were behind the 2000 coup had not been brought to justice.
