Former Prime Minister and SDL Party Leader said they are now calling on the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption to carry out an investigation into the procedures followed by interim Attorney General's Office in obtaining a stay order on Justice Jitoko's ruling to stop all People's Charter Work.
Laisenia Qarase claims that proper procedures were not followed.
Interim Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said these actions look like an act of desperation adding that the courts have already spoken on the matter.
In a statement, the SDL said the AG's office went to the High Court Civil Registry and spoke to an official who had managed to find out that Justice Jitoko was not available.
The official allegedly then contacted the Acting Chief Justice who had said that the parties have to wait until the following Monday because Justice Jitoko was the only Judge who could hear the application.
This was allegedly relayed to the AG's representatives who then had gone to see Court of Appeal Judge John Byrne.
