The Fiji chamber of Commerce has welcomed the introduction of Flood Rehabilitation Facility by the Reserve Bank of Fiji.
Chamber President Swani Maharaj said setting aside $20 million to assist businesses struggling to recover from the recent floods is a great step and all the businesses who suffered from the floods are thankful to the Interim government.
RBF Governor Savenaca Narube yesterday revealed that the funds will be made available through commercial banks and the Fiji Development Bank and will only be available to businesses affected by the January floods.
The term for the loan under this facility will be a minimum 6 months with the possibility of extension.
