Suva lawyer Savenaca Komaisavai said he will seek a declaration by the Courts on the interpretation of the Fijian version of the Deed of Cession to outline that all the native land remains the property of the indigenous Fijians.
According to Komaisavai there is a need to clarify this matter.
Komaisavai claimed that there are concerns that if the Court is not asked to make a declaration, Indigenous Fijians could end up like the Maori people in New Zealand.
Komaisavai said he is compiling the necessary information before he files the papers in the High Court.
