Following the over $4 million expansion of the Savusavu Aiport, the Interim Government is now looking at expanding the Nausori Airport to be able to cater for international flights.
Interim Tourism Minister, Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum at the launching of the new Virgin Blue Adelaide route direct to Fiji, said this is to ensure tourists have access to other parts of the country.
Sayed Khaiyum also added that with the new Australian route opening up, Fiji will be able to offer more to their tourists in terms of destinations.
Last year alone, there were a total of 100 000 Australian Virgin Blue passengers bound for Fiji and with the new direct route from Adelaide is expected to bring in over 20 000 more visitors this year.
