The Citizens Constitutional Forum said the international community should not back out but keep to its earlier pronouncements that they are ready to assist Fiji in the roadmap leading to parliamentary elections in March, 2009.

CCF's Executive Director Reverend Akuila Yabaki said the acceptance in principle by the interim government of the March 2009 elections has been received well by donor countries, Australia, New Zealand and European Union.

Yabaki said through their public statements, they have given their assurances to help Fiji in completing the activities necessary to prepare for the conduct of a free and fair election.

Yabaki acknowledged the statement made by the Australian High Commissioner James Batley where he stated that they are ready to help.

CCF hopes that the international community will assist in finding a suitable candidate for the Supervisor of Elections post.
