Education Minister Filipe Bole has assured students and parents that there are systems in place which will work in place of the three external examinations which will be abolished.
Bole said there is no need to panic as there will be thorough internal assessments in place.
Bole also said that external examinations do not fully test a student.
Meanwhile, Fiji Teachers Union general secretary Agni Deo Singh said the Education Ministry will need to do a lot to maintain the standard of education in the country.
It was confirmed last week that the Fiji Intermediate Examination will be abolished next year while the Fiji Eighth Year and Fiji Junior Certificate Examinations will be abolished by 2011.
