The Prime Minister and Minister for National Disaster Management, Commodore Frank Bainimarama said the Interim Government is working hard to restore essential services to the public.

Commodore Bainimarama said field teams under the divisional commissioners have also been sent out to conduct immediate surveys where possible so that immediate relief supplies can be dispatched.

He said Government workers have been working around the clock to restore water and electricity supplies to cyclone affected areas.

The current weather situation has somewhat hampered the restoration work, however the authorities have assured that water and electricity supplies will be restored to 90 percent of the affected areas by midnight tonight.

Meanwhile on the Health services, Bainimarama said the Ministry of Health is focusing on major hospitals which are now fully operational. All sub divisional hospitals are now providing services, except the Navua Hospital which has been affected by flood.
