Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama's departure from Baghdad has been cancelled.

According to the Ministry of Information, his flight which was scheduled from Baghdad to Amman last night, was cancelled due to the tense situation on the ground where security measures have heightened leading to the cancellation of all flights to and from Baghdad.

Once the situation eases, flights will resume.

Bainimarama is expected to arrive in the country on Monday.
