Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama has stressed that he wants a truly democratic Fiji rather than just having elections and putting people into parliament.
Bainimarama said it is about time that every citizen ensures that we have a racist-free country, and every person, irrespective of their race and religion feels comfortable in Fiji and knows that they truly belong here.
While Ousted Prime Minister, Laisenia Qarase, former Australian Foreign Minister, Alexander Downer and NZ Foreign Minister, Winston Peters have said in the past that the main reason for the December 5th takeover was Bainimarama trying to get into power, the Interim PM said that is a misleading statement as his intentions are now well known.
