As Fiji's Interim Prime Minister gets ready to address the UN General Assembly in New York this week, Commodore Frank Bainimarama said he will tell the UN that he had to take action in December last year to start work on bringing true democracy in the country.

Commodore Bainimarama said the international community should realize that having elections is not enough to have democracy.

He said true democracy does not include biased and racist policies that benefit the elite of a particular race.
