The Interim Prime Minister said he is not worried about the SDL Party trying to seek revenge if it comes back into power.
As the SDL starts preparations for the planned March 2009 elections with Ousted Prime Minister, Laisenia Qarase saying that he is ready to lead the party to yet another successful election, Commodore Frank Bainimarama said the military will address all the issues before the next polls.
In an exclusive interview with Village News, Commodore Bainimarama said that he is not bothered about the SDL, as all his plans will be implemented before he returns to the camp.
Bainimarama stresses that no political party will be allowed to put through racist policies when the People's Charter is implemented.
He said people should now understand that he will ensure that the politics of race or using the race card to get votes is now a thing of the past in Fiji. He said political parties should be mindful of this when preparing for the next elections.
Meanwhile Qarase said he is ready to speak to Bainimarama. The Ousted PM said following the discussions on the path to the elections, he can speak on issues such as the SDL's view on the possibility of parliament approving bills to include immunity for those involved in the 2006 takeover. However Qarase said this discussion can only take place if the election timetable is set.
He also stresses that he will only speak on issues that can be looked at, under the current constitution.
