Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama said the interim administration's contingency plans are working following the strike of the Fijian Teachers Association, Public Employees Union and the Viti National Unions of Taukei workers.

After visiting the Works, Public Utilities and Education Ministry earlier today, Commodore Bainimarama told Village News in an exclusive interview at Suva's Marela House that they are feeling a minimal effect after the strike.

Commodore Bainimarama said that he is pleased with the people currently assisting in various divisions in the health centers and hospitals around the country as the strike by the Fiji Nursing Association cotninues into the 9th day.

He went to say that many union members in the Water Supply Department have also decide that they will not go on strike and ensure that essential services continue.
