Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama has today replied to Ousted Prime Minister, Laisenia Qarase, saying that he is ready to hear from Qarase when the discussions on the People's Charter begins.

Bainimarama, who is also the Co-Chair of the National Council for Building a Better Fiji, stresses that some ground rules will be set before the discussions begin.

Speaking to Village News a few minutes ago, Commodore Bainimarama said the best time and place for discussions with Qarase will be the during the People's Charter meetings.    

He said the letter will be posted to Qarase soon.

There is no time set as yet on when discussions will begin.

Qarase had earlier confirmed that he had written a letter to Bainimarama. He has refused to make any further comments as he wants their communication to be private.

However SDL Party Director, Peceli Kinivuwai has confirmed to Village News that Qarase has written to Bainimarama, saying that he is ready to meet with him to discuss about the country's situation and assist in taking Fiji to democratic elections in March 2009.
