Soqosoqo ni Duavata ni Lewenivanua party said, that interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama, is not honoring what he had told the nation when he removed the SDL government from power in 5th December and that is a person appointed in his interim cabinet will not contest the next general elections.
SDL director Peceli Kinivuwai was responding to Bainimarama's statement yesterday that he will allow his Interim Ministers
to contest but only if they hand in their resignation letters within the next few months.
Bainimarama has confirmed that he will not allow any interim ministers to be part of cabinet until the next elections if they wish to stand for elections.
He said that he has based his decision on the fact that the interim government ministers appointed in 2000 took advantage of their positions and campaigned for the 2001 elections using tax dollars.
