The Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama is expected back in the country today after spending Christmas with our troops in the Middle East.

The PM's Office confirms that Commodore Bainimarama's visit of the troops in Iraq started with a Church service at 5am following which he spent the day with the soldiers.

Bainimarama also took the opportunity to speak to the troops who are manning in Irbil, which is located close to the Turkish and Irania border via video conferencing.

After speaking to the men, Bainimarama said that the soldiers are in fine spirits and have sent their best wishes back home.
