Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama has denied that the People's Charter would prevent ousted Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase and his SDL party from contesting the next elections.
Speaking to a group of journalist in Tonga who questioned him on his earlier statement that Qarase and the SDL will not be allowed to contest the elections, Bainimarama denied making such a comment.
However, Laisenia Qarase said Commodore Bainimarama must clarify once and for all what the People's Charter means to him, his party and the people of Fiji.
Meanwhile, Fiji Labour Party President, Jokapeci Koroi believes that Qarase and the SDL should not be allowed to contest the next general election.
