Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama said he is delighted that the People's Charter has been launched today by President, Ratu Josefa Iloilo.
Speaking after the launch, Commodore Bainimarama said today is the beginning of a new era for Fiji as the citizens of the country should work together and overcome all the obstacles that we have faced since 1987.
The Interim Prime Minister said as the co-chair of the National Council of Building a Better Fiji, he will also ensure that there is room for negotiations with those who are currently opposing the proposed People's Charter.
Commodore Bainimarama also said that he first thought twice when approached by President Iloilo to take up the co-chair for the National Council of Building a Better Fiji but he assures the people that his decision to make a difference is genuine.
The first meeting of the National Council is expected to take place within the next few weeks.
