The Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama today assured the members of the public and visiting tourists to our shores that the Police will do everything possible to safeguard them.

This comes in light of an alleged assassination plot against him, some members of the RFMF and members of the interim government.

In a statement this afternoon, Bainimarama commends Police for uncovering the alleged plan after months of monitoring and surveillance together with RFMF personnel.

Bainimarama says he has full confidence in Police Commissioner, Esala Teleni and his team in maintaining law and order and adds that there are obviously disgruntled groups out there who are feeling the full impact of the Interim Government's " Clean Up Campaign" and adds that these people have the potential to go to extremes in undermining the work of the Interim Government.

Bainimarama requests members of the public as well as the international community to allow the normal process of investigations and law to take its course and not to prematurely form positions.
