The Interim Prime Minister remains undeterred in New York despite Ousted Prime Minister, Laisenia Qarase's letter to the UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-Moon.

Commodore Frank Bainimarama said the interim government will not be deterred by the divisive and misguided politics of Qarase and the SDL party.

Speaking from the US, Bainimarama said nothing will stop him from promoting and effectively implementing the way forward as has been mapped out for Fiji through the consultative Peoples Charter process.

He said it is a pity that Qarase has again gone to the international community rather than taking the opportunity to become part of the process and engaging in constructive dialogue for building a better Fiji for all.

Bainimarama said the door remains open for Qarase to engage through the NCBBF and also the Presidential Political Forum and to get his views heard through these processes.

Before leaving for New York to address the UN General Assembly, Commodore Frank Bainimarama said in an interview with Fijivillage News that the Charter process will go ahead with or without the SDL, the NFP and the Methodist Church executives. He said the only issue is that there may be no elections for some time.
