The Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama has now ordered an immediate inquiry into the tragic bus accident in Sigatoka late last night.

Bainimarama has also directed the Interim Minister for Transport, Timoci Natuva and the LTA to immediately investigate the public safety issues in the bus which was subject to the accident, as well as all other associated factors involved in the most unfortunate and tragic accident.

The Interim Prime Minister has expressed his sadness over the bus accident which happened in Sigatoka.

Bainimarama also offers his condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones in this tragic accident, as well as those who have sustained severe injuries.

The Interim Minister for Transport said the horrific bus accident in Malaqereqere which claimed the lives of ten people is unfortunate, and has called for a thorough investigation following a directive from the Interim Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama to determine what caused the fire.

Timoci Natuva said he will also be looking at reviewing the safety laws of buses, because in this case there was only one exit.
