The Interim Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama is now in the North for a four day visit to Rabi Island and Cakaudrove.

Bainimarama is expected to be briefed by senior officials on a number of projects being carried out in the North through the interim government's "Look North Policy".

He will be briefed by officials on the Nakaudrudru Ice Plant, the Committee on the Better Utilization of Land and the Northern Division Typhoid Taskforce Committee and their work.

The interim government's intentions for Vanua Levu are to raise the level of investment and economic production, generate increased employment opportunities, income and consumption growth, increase the volume and value of trade, foster entrepreneurial development, and increase the involvement of Vanua Levu's population in economic activities.
