The Ministerial Contact Group which arrived into the country yesterday and are here to have talks on possible General Elections next year, had a successful meeting with Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama this morning.
Newly elected New Zealand Foreign Affairs Minister, Murray Mc Cully said meeting went well however he refused to reveal much.
Papua New Guinea's Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Abal also confirmed the meeting was fruitful.
Australia's Foreign Affairs Minister, Stephen Smith said he was happy after meeting.
However earlier today Smith said that there appears to be no progress in the effort to get Fiji's Interim Prime Minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama to hold elections soon. Smith revealed this to Radio Australia earlier today, where he said that the political will seems to be absent to have elections in Fiji in March 2009.
Speaking on Australia Network Television, Smith has already issued a warning in the event of failure on Fiji's part.
