Interim PM Chairs NCBBF Meet
NCBBF Media Relations Officer, Filimoni Kau said the NCBBF will discuss a report from its secretariat on the nationwide public consultations on the Draft Peoples Charter that took place between August 5th to December 10th.
Kau said the TASS report provides an in-depth account of the way in which the consultation process was handled including the strategies adopted through the media and house to house visits of consultation teams, public meetings and information distribution activities.
The two day meeting is expected to review each pillar of the Draft People's Charter and decide on the recommended changes including new proposals and to agree on the finalized Peoples' Charter to be included in its final report to his Excellency the President.
The full communiqué of the two day meeting will be released tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Labour Party representatives to the NCBBF were not present at the meeting.
They are Jokapeci Koroi who is the FLP President and treasurer and current Nasinu Mayor Rajeshwar Kumar. NCBBF media officer Filimoni Kau said seats were provided for all members however some members did not turn up for this crucial meeting to finalize the People's Charter before it is forwarded to the President. Koroi could not be reached for a comment while Rajeshwar Kumar said he is busy today and could not attend the meeting.
