Interim PM Asked To Reconsider Decision
PCRC Campaigner Ema Tagicakibau said Commodore Bainimarama's excuse for not attending the meeting because of the crisis in Fiji is just an attempt to avoid and delay the resolution of the political situation in Fiji.
She added that there is a Minister responsible for Disaster Management and civil servants are actually the ones doing the job.
Tagicakibau said it’s a good opportunity for the Interim Prime Minister to personally present to Forum leaders a clear plan and roadmap for restoring parliamentary democracy in Fiji.
The interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama today said if the Pacific Island Special Forum meeting goes ahead in PNG next Tuesday then he will consider alternative attendance.
In a press statement released, Bainimarama said he will send Interim Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum and Ratu Isoa Gavidi the Permanent Secretary Foreign Affairs.
