Interim Health Minister visits Shavneet
Dr. Jona today visited Shavneet twice at the CWN Hospital and after conducting initial investigations, he confirms that at this stage they suspect that Shavneet may have reacted to the anesthetics which caused him to go into a comma.
Dr. Jona also stresses that as investigations continue they have ruled out any errors on the part of the doctors and nurses who attended to Shavneet.
Shavneet's Father Sanju Kumar said his son fractured his arm three weeks ago and it was then put in a cast by doctors. The five year old boy was then taken by his mother last Tuesday for the removal of the cast, when the doctors x-rayed him and said that his arm was a bit crooked and they could straighten it the following day.
Kumar said his son has not regained consciousness after coming out from the operation theatre on the morning of last Wednesday and is calling on the health authorities to find out how his son who was taken in with a fractured arm, is now on life support machine.
