The interim government plans to hire retired teachers and consolidate operations of various health centers as part of its contingency plans if the Fiji Nurses Association and unions under the Fiji Islands Council of Trade Unions go on strike.

Permanent Secretary for Public Service Taina Tagicakibau confirmed to Legend FM news this afternoon that they will ensure that none of the essential services such as water and road upgrading works, health services and schools are not affected by the planned strike.
