Mataqali Rara head Jovilisi Kedrayate and members of his mataqali from Naimasimasi Village in Vugalei were lost for words when Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama handed over the deed of settlement to their ancestral land to them today.

The deed is for the return of 38 acres of ancestral land and 48 acres of native reserve from Nukurua lease held by the Fiji Hardwood Cooperation.

Interim Minister for Fijian Affairs Ratu Epeli Ganilau said members of the mataqali Rara have been persistently requesting previous governments for the return of their ancestral and reserved land with standing mahogany trees and were made to run around in circles for more than 20 years.
