Interim Cabinet decides to revoke decision to sack GCC members

The interim cabinet has decided to revoke the earlier decision to sack the Great Council of Chief members and suspension of all GCC meetings. 

Interim Fijian Affairs Minister, Ratu Epeli Ganilau said the decision was made after he presented a paper to the interim cabinet. 

Ratu Epeli said the decision was reached after the Fijian Affairs Ministry decided to conduct further reviews and speak to the chiefs about the make up of the council. 

However the Interim Fijian Affairs Minister stresses that the GCC can only meet when the ministry directs the council to sit.
