Interim Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum yesterday lodged a complaint to the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon after the United States embassy in Suva refused to grant him a transit visa to attend a UN funded conference in Vienna
Khaiyum said he accepts that whilst the US like any other country has the right to refuse entry or deport non citizens, he said member states of the UN cannot and should not be stopped from fully exercising their rights to participate in UN matters.
The Suva embassy is expected to comment later today on the matter.
