Interim AG Hits Out At SDL
Speaking from Denarau Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum questions why a reputable political party is questioning the Interim administration's moves when certain matters are before the court.
This is after the SDL general assembly in their Resolution #11 said that they were concerned with the way FICAC carried out its operation and questioned its legality since it was established by an interim administration.
Sayed-Khaiyum said the matter is before the court and the party should leave the it to the courts to decide the legality of the commission.
On the matter with regards to Resolution #4, where the SDL raised their at the recent events in which expatriate representatives of the media industry have been intimidated and expelled from the country, Sayed Khaiyum said the matter is also before the court and again reiterated that the media in Fiji is free to publish what they think is right.
Meanwhile, the Fiji Tourism Industry has come out today and revealed that they remain apolitical and will not interfere with the affairs of the daily running of the Interim Government.
This is the comment of Fiji Visitors Bureau chairman, Patrick Wong, in regards to one of the 16 resolutions released by the Soqosoqo Duavata ni Lewenivanua party saying that the steep increase in the level of poverty in Fiji since December 6th, 2006 is a direct result of the policies put in place by the interim administration that are driving investors and tourists away from the country.
