As the national hockey side gets ready to leave our shores for round two of the world hockey league in India, there are some inspirational stories on the team's commitment leading up to the tournament.

National men's hockey coach Hector Smith has said that the sacrifice made by his players shows how much they take pride in the national jumper and how badly they want to make the trip.

Smith added that some went the extra mile to raise the $3500 required by each player but at the end of the day it is about a team.

The Fiji men's side will take on India in their first game while the women's team will play Japan next Monday.

They will leave for India at midnight tomorrow.
