Thirty women inmates at the Korovou Prisons now have a reason to smile as they will be catering in a coffee shop that will be opened at the Women prison by next year.

This morning the Prison and Police Commissioner Brigadier Iowane Naivalurua officially signed the contract together with the building constructors Modern Investment Business Company.

Brigadier Naivalurua said the Prison for Women will undergo construction works beginning on Monday which will see a coffee shop and a conference room that the public can access and also hire.

He said the coffee shop is part of the business venture by the Fiji Prisons and the training they will undergo will up skill the women and prepare them for their release.
