Brumbies winger Henry Speight is facing six weeks on the sidelines after suffering an ankle injury in Saturday night's win over the Hurricanes.

Speight will have a scan today that will confirm the ankle ligament damage and determine the length of the injury.

Should the scan show Speight has ruptured all three stabilising ligaments which will require surgery, it could rule him out for the rest of the season.

The loss of Speight is a major blow for the Brumbies as he was the only try scorer against the Hurricanes, and the speedster has impressed in his first season wearing a Brumbies jersey.

In this week’s Super 15 clashes, the Brumbies meet the Force at 6:10pm on Sunday afternoon in Canberra.

Meanwhile on Friday at 7:35pm the Chiefs meet the Crusaders and at 9:40pm the Rebels host the Highlanders in Melbourne.
