There are some injury concerns in the Vodafone Fiji 7s team ahead of the second leg of the IRB World 7s Series in Dubai and Port Elizabeth.
Team manager Paula Biu said hard hitting Aisake Katonibau, Manueli Laqai, Apisalome Waqatabu and Vatemo Ravouvou have been rested from training this week.
Katonibau, Laqai and Waqatabu sustained injuries during the Sukuna Bowl clash last week while Ravouvou is down with a flu.
Despite the setback, Biu is confident that the players will recover and be in contention for a spot in the final team.
If these players are unavailable for selection, then wholesome changes are expected from the team that won the Gold Coast 7s title after the departure of players like Apisai Naqaliva, Senivalati Ramuwai and Setefano Cakau.
Meanwhile, Vodafone Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan is currently away in Brisbane and will return for the Bayleys Coral Coast 7s next week.
The Dubai 7s tournament is scheduled from the 5th to the 7th of next month.
