The Chiefs are hoping that the injury concerns which they have with All Black openside flanker Sam Cane and his replacement
Tevita Koloamatangi will not reduce their chances of claiming a victory over the Crusaders this weekend.
Cane was a late withdrawal with a neck injury from last Friday night's 19‑17 victory, over the powerful Brumbies while his replacement Tevita Koloamatangi, lasted fewer than five minutes, suffering an ankle injury.
Maama Vaipulu also went off the field at halftime during Friday night's win, which Coach Rennie said they would know more about in the next couple of days.
Liam Squire, the young Tasman No 8 who made his mark for the Chiefs in his debut season last year, has missed the start of this season as he comes back from a bad concussion suffered in the national provincial premiership for Tasman.
The chiefs will also be hoping that Liam Messam would be available this week but there is still a question mark over his availability.

In the Super Rugby matches this week, the Highlanders will meet the Reds at 6.35pm Friday while Western Force will meet the Hurricanes at 11.00pm.
On Saturday, the Cheetahs will face the Blues at 5.10am, the Chiefs meet the Crusaders at 6.35pm while the Rebels will clash with the Brumbies at 8.40pm.
On Sunday the Bulls will meet the Sharks at 3.05am while the Lions will face the Stormers at 5.10am.
