State solicitors are expected to file for an injunction in the High Court to try and stop Dr Sachida Mudaliar from practicing medicine after he re-opened his surgery in Nabua earlier this week.

It has been confirmed that the legal officer based at the Health Ministry is currently compiling the necessary information which is expected to be forwarded to the Attorney General’s chambers next week.

The Health Ministry had stated earlier that only an injunction would stop Dr Mudaliar from practicing medicine as they said that his medical license was terminated after he was earlier charged with manslaughter.

However, Dr Mudaliar who continues his practice from this Nabua surgery remains adamant that his license remains intact and the Medical Practitioners Act allows him to practice medicine and that the only body that can stop him from doing so is the Supreme Court.
