The average inflation rate for last month stood at 3.6% when compared to the same period last year which was 7.5%.

The Bureau of Statistic report showed that people had to fork out less money to buy some basic food items including yaqona, vegetables, fresh fish and fruits, mineral water, bakery products and oils which were down by 0.4%.

Lower prices were also recorded for kerosene which was 0.7%.

Fuel and new tyre prices were down too last month however the same cannot be said for house paints which went up by 0.1%, furniture, electrical appliances and jewelry went up by 0.9%, clothes for everyone including women's shoes recorded an increase of 0.5% and higher prices were recorded for medical goods and other household items.
