As part of their preparation for the Commonwealth Games, the Indian Rugby Team arrives tonight in the country to acquire more in-depth knowledge about the game and identify their strengths and weaknesses.

During their three-week trip, the 23 member contingent will first compete in the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s tournament starting tomorrow at the TFL National Stadium and then travel to New Zealand.

The Indian Rugby 7s Captain, Nasser Hussein said this trip is very important, keeping the Commonwealth Games in mind.

They will be up against some of the best playing teams.

He said all know, Fiji and New Zealand are two top Rugby playing nations and to visit them and get a hang of their sporting culture is nothing less than a dream come true.

According to Hussein, it's an opportunity to learn more of the game from the best in the industry adding you will come across your strengths and weaknesses.

He said you will actually learn what the game is all about.

The India 7s rugby team is in Pool 8 with Ratu Filise, Harbour Sharks, Lomavata Tamavua and Senidrala Waidina.

They will meet Ratu Filise in their opening match.

The Marist 7s tournament will start tomorrow at 9am at the tfl National Stadium.
