Doctors from India are expected to work in various hospitals around the country in the near future after the shortage of doctors experienced in some major hospitals.

Health Minister Dr Neil Sharma is going to India to recruit doctors from New Delhi after attending the World Health Organization assembly on the global economic crisis.

The assembly will be held in Geneva and will discuss the current global crisis affecting health services and health in general.

Expatriate doctors from India will be recruited to work as pathologists, anesthetists and radiologists at the three divisional hospitals in Suva, Lautoka and Labasa.

The Minister will return next month.
