An Indian national charged with one count of trafficking in person will appear in the Lautoka Magistrates court this afternoon.

He is one of the eight Indian nationals who were arrested by Immigration officials at the Nadi International airport last Friday.

Officials have confirmed that the man allegedly obtained four thousand New Zealand dollars each from seven people who he brought to Fiji saying that he will arrange employment for them in New Zealand.

However upon arriving in Nadi, he allegedly told the six people who came to Fiji for the first time that they have arrived in New Zealand.

The six were found acting suspiciously by customs and Immigration officials and upon questioning they were detained.
