An Indian National has been sentenced to two years imprisonment by the Suva Magistrate this afternoon for giving false information to a public servant.
Muskaan Balaggan had alleged that her lawyer Rajendra Chaudhry indecently assaulted and raped her earlier this year.
However she later confessed to police that she had given false information.
While sentencing her, Magistrate Nanise Ratakele said this should be a message to all women around the country who lie about being raped and indecently assaulted.
