The Indian High Commissioner to Fiji, Professor Prabhakar Jha said the Indian Government wants democracy to be restored in Fiji as soon as possible.
Professor Jha said the Fijian delegation which went to the Forum Foreign Ministers meeting in Auckland has committed that General Elections will be held next year.
He said while India will never interfere with the internal matters of Fiji they are pleased there are signs that Election will be held next year.
When asked on Interim Governments stand to put in place the Peoples Charter for Change before the elections, Professor Jha said this is an internal matter which has to be discussed by Fiji's leaders.
