The Indian government will set up a center of Excellence in Information Technology in Fiji.

The center will be based at the Fiji National University and will train about 500 students per year.

India will provide free supply of necessary computer hardware such as servers, desktops, printers and other equipment worth more than $158,000.

The government of India will also provide 3 highly qualified teachers.

Education Minister, Filipe Bole while signing the Memorandum of Understanding with the Indian High Commissioner, Professor Prabhakar Jha last night said that this initiative from the Indian government will help Fiji progress further in the field of Information Technology.
