An Indian and an American national remain in the custody of Fiji police as investigations continue into the seizure of baggage containing clothes soaked in what is believed to be illegal substances.

Police spokesperson Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri confirmed that the two have been brought to Suva and continue to be interrogated and more details are expected to be released later today.

It is understood that the Police Forensics Team is still analyzing the substance.

FIRCA chief executive Jitoko Tikolevu confirmed earlier that the two people were apprehended and handed over to Border Police at the Nadi International Airport yesterday.
