A 27-year-old man of Bua charged with unlawfully indecently assaulting his 18-year-old female cousin has been sentenced to ten months imprisonment by the Nabouwalu Magistrates Court this morning.

The court heard that in January this year, the victim was having her bath when the 27-year-old man entered the bathroom and started indecently assaulting her.

The victim screamed and escaped from the bathroom and complained to the man's wife.

The matter was then reported to police and the Bua man was arrested and charged.

While sentencing the man, Magistrate Anare Tuilevuka said firstly the victim is the man's cousin and secondly he has violated her trust.
